Broom Research Associates Noah Friedkin (Professor of Sociology) and Brenda Major (Professor of Psychology) have been selected as 2017 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. AAAS is the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of Science and other prestigious journals. Brenda Major was recognized for distinguished contributions to understanding the effects of discrimination and stigma and the potential for psychological resilience. Noah Friedkin's selection was for major contributions to mathematical sociology and to network theory and its sociological and psychological implications.
