I am a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at UC Santa Barbara.  My research focuses on women of color and diversity in feminist organizations.  My master's thesis examines how a feminist-identified rape crisis center in Southern California went from serving mostly English-speaking sexual violence survivors and being staffed predominantly by white women, to serving both English- and Spanish-speaking survivors and being staffed predominantly by Latina women.  I have broad research interests in race and ethnicity, sex and gender, feminist studies, intersectionality, violence against women, organizations, Chicana/o studies, and social movements.
