I am a first year MA/PhD student in the department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I graduated with honors from Emory University in 2012 with a double major in African American Studies and Sociology.

My research focuses on the intersections of race, class, and gender within the criminal justice system. Currently, I have co-authored a working paper titled “You Can’t Sit Here: The Role of Help in Police-Citizen Interactions” utilizing video data from the “Good Stranger Project” with Nikki Jones and Geoff Raymond.
