Currently, I’m pursuing my PhD at the Geography Department at UC-Santa Barbara. In 2008, I received a BS in Mathematics from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico followed by an MA in Climate and Society from Columbia University in 2009.  My dissertation work aims to reduce the vulnerability to climate stressors of Peruvian farmers and to enhance their adaptive capacity. My work its divided into two related topics: (1)  the creation of Peruvian sub-national level vulnerability to climate stressors maps that incorporate population dynamics and geo-vizualization; (2)studying the role that perception and local knowledge play on enhancing adaptive capacity.
