Education and Health

Education and health are core topics in the explanation of demographic trends and social inequality. The health and education area covers the study of education and health separately but also the interaction of their influences. One thread of this research explores how different factors impact education and health. These factors include economic conditions, health care, social and cultural influences, and environmental factors. A second thread investigates how education and health influence life course outcomes (e.g., income, fertility, aging, mating market behaviors). This theme, directed by Heather Royer, is interdisciplinary and covers a wide range of populations from developing to developed countries.
